10 Monster Learning Activities for Kids

These monster learning activities will get kids’ attention. From shape and color activities for toddlers and preschoolers, to an Monster ABC order activity for elementary kiddos, there’s something for everyone. Whether it’s Halloween or not, a monster theme is lots of fun.

This first group is bright and colorful. Don’t you love googly eyes?!

Monster Finger Puppets from I Can Teach My Child – Make one of these to work on all sorts of monster learning activities: color recognition, one-to-one correspondence, language, and whatever else you can come up with. There’s a cute song there you can sing with it too.

Monster Science Experiment from Artsy Momma is a fun baking soda and vinegar reaction. She’s worked out all the details for you.

Roll a Monster from Happy Brown House – perfect for reading a few simple body part words and following directions

Monsters Sorting Game from The Imagination Tree – a fun way to work on shapes and visual discrimination with toddlers and preschoolers.

This next group has some serious learning behind the fun. Even that little toilet paper roll monster is all about fine motor skills.

Monster Counting Cards from Playdough to Plato – an adorable free printable. Kids count out the number of googly eyes shown on each card.

Fine Motor Monsters from Pleasantest Thing – for kids who need to work on fine motor skills, this monster activity may motivate them!

Monster Mumbles Phonics Game from A Little Pinch of Perfect – a free printable for practicing letter sounds, CVC words (consonant-vowel-consonant), and CVC word families.

Monster Dice Match from the Measured Mom – children roll dice and match up to the spaces on the free printable. This would be a fun way to work on number recognition, counting, and subitizing up to 6.
