Letter Sticker Matching Activity for Learning ABC’s
Learning ABC’s and their sounds takes time and practice. If your child likes stickers, he or she might enjoy this simple letter sticker activity. I chose foam stickers because children can feel the shape of the letters as well as see them.
All you need are some foam alphabet stickers and paper. You can print out the page shown for A-D, or quickly draw and write your own. This activity is meant to be more about letters than sounds, but you can talk about the sounds as they work. Little pictures can help reinforce this learning.
Easiest Letter Sticker Activity
For kids new to letter learning, start with just one letter, or maybe two. If you’re using my printable, simply cut the page along the lines. That way each letter is on its own little page.
Begin with letters that are dissimilar. Avoid introducing easily confused letters (like “b” and “d”) at the same time. Instead, allow your child to learn them one at a time.
Only give the child stickers for the letters on the worksheet.
Still Easy Letter Sticker Activity
To make the activity more challenging, offer unneeded letter stickers as well. You can also present more letters at once. Mixing uppercase and lowercase letter stickers will also bump up the level of difficulty.
Challenging Letter Sticker Activity
When your child knows the letters well, write out the whole alphabet on one sheet of paper. Have the child sort through all the letter stickers and find a match for each letter.
I have another foam sticker letter activity that’s also lots of fun…

Love how easily this activity can be differentiated.
Thanks, Emma. You could even go further and do this with beginning sight words too, now that I think of it.
