Inside: these free, editable winter name worksheets give your preschoolers practice recognizing and writing their names.
Last fall I emailed out a simple “My name is…” worksheet for back to school, and I received a lot of positive feedback from subscribers. So, I thought I’d make you a winter themed one, decorated with a cute snowman and snowflake!
These are much less prep than something like my winter name craft (which is adorable but takes some time to get ready for the kids).
You can print off these easy-prep worksheets to have each student work on these skills:
- Recognizing their name in print
- Learning the letters in their name
- Tracing their name
All you need to prepare these workshops is Adobe Reader and a computer (not a tablet). You just type the names in and they automatically fill in on the worksheets for you. Like this:
Ways to Use the Worksheets
You can use these as single-use worksheets that are great for sending home. Or, you can slip them into dry erase pockets so students can use the same name worksheets multiple times.

If you have any trouble editing the file with your own students’ names here are a couple tips:
- Make sure you are in the freestanding Adobe Reader program, not your browser or preview mode. One easy way you can make sure is to first open Adobe and then go to File, Open to open the file.
- Don’t try to edit on a phone or a tablet – you will need to use a computer.
